Security engineer and social engineer. Paid to be paranoid, and still online anyway.
I work full-time in security, and I got here the long way: self-taught, one rabbit hole at a time. The field does not sit still, so neither do I. Most of my learning now is on the offensive side, and right now that means working towards the OSCP.
Social engineering is half of that job, which means I know exactly how people get owned. It is rarely the zero-day. It is the helpdesk, the reused password, and the location someone posted like it’s 2009.
Privacy is a discipline, not a product. Tools help, habits do the work. Defaults are for people who haven’t been breached yet.
Real security is boring discipline, not vibes, and I respect the people who do that work. The modern internet is a strip mall built on a graveyard. I miss real forums, software that worked, and companies that gave a damn.
